Jerry Tagge, Joe Orduna and the stingy blackshirts tame the LSU Tigers, 17-12 to clinch the Championship. Senior linebacker and co-captain Jerry Murtaugh predicted the championship season after the Huskers 9-2 1969 campaign. He and his friends slowly rose through the national polls during the course of the season as they battle the likesof USC, Wake Forest, Missouri, KSU, OU and finally LSU.
